Did you know there are many USPS mailbox requirements and regulations you must follow before using a new mailbox?

Requirements and regulations exist for both mailboxes in general as well as those specific to the make, installation, display and environment. The list below pertains mostly to the general criteria, though some pertain to specific circumstances.

1. Use of Mailboxes: Only authorized personnel, such as mail carriers and homeowners, can legally deposit articles displaying adequate postage in USPS-approved mailboxes.

2. Appearance: Residential mailboxes must feature the homeowner’s name or address in minimum 1-inch-high numbers and consist of letters that are clearly discernible and colored in contrast to the color of the box.

These figures must be on the flag-side if possible. No advertisements whatsoever are allowed. No disparaging, obscenities, defamatory or prejudicial images, caricatures effigies or remarks are permitted.

3.Size: All must facilitate the accumulation of mail growth when homeowners are away for extended periods of time.

Small (T1/C1): 5inw x 6int x 18½inl

Medium (T2/C2): 6inw x 7int x 19inl

Large (TC/C3): 8inw x 11½int x 22½inl

4. Construction: Mailboxes must be strong, durable and made from USPS-approved materials.

5. Position: Curb boxes must be 6-8 inches from curb and 42-46 inches from ground top of mailbox. The flag (if there is one) must extend no closer than 6 inches to the curb.

6. Area and Delivery: The area surrounding the mailbox must be clear and unobstructed. Mailboxes must facilitate easy, convenient and lawful deliveries at all times. This includes placement on right-side of the road, in line with traffic.

Installing your mailbox may be a great way for you to test out your handy-man skills. However, before beginning you should be sure to call your utility locator who will come out and mark underground pipes for no charge. Of course, if you’re installing a box in the same place the old was in you should be fine.

After ensuring the placement is correct, you need to gather a shovel, post hole digger, bag of cement, Phillips screwdriver and a level. Ensure you are placing the box according to the US Postal Service guidelines.

Steps of installing:

1) Cut a 12 inch square section out of the ground and save the sod. Dig down into the whole at least six inches and use the post hole digger to remove the dirt to 30 inches. You can rent one of these at a home improvement store.

2) Next, place the post into the hole and ensure there are from 28 to 42 inches between the ground and the top of the arm. Then, adding ½ of the bag of cement, dry into the hole. The ground’s water will firm it up.

3) Check your post on all sides to be sure it is level and not leaning.

4) Fill the remaining cement into the hole around the mailbox post and periodically check to make sure the post is not leaning. Be sure to leave about 6 inches of ground at the top without cement so you can replace the sod.

5) Add the mailbox to the top of the support arm post and attach it with the three included screws.

If you look at most homes, their mailboxes are placed, sitting on a post. The post is used likely to meet the height requirements of the United State Post Office. In addition, a mail post typically allows the mail box to be displayed in a decorative and curb appealing manner. However, more and more neighborhoods are being built with wall mounted mail boxes next to the front door.

While mail carriers may not like walking in all seasons to deliver mail, developers are choosing wall mounted mail boxes to add a charming appeal to newer housing areas. Wall mounted boxes allow for more privacy for homeowners and are less likely to be hit by cars. Long ago houses all came with mail slots in the front door. But, with mail being dumped on the floor you can only imagine the daily mess homeowners came home to.

Wall mounted mailboxes allow for convenience for the homeowner. They also allow the homeowner to be less likely to be victims of mail theft. Mail theft is a growing problem due to identity theft. Thieves steal mail in hopes of obtaining personal information they can use for criminal actions.

When choosing a wall mounted box, you want to be sure it’s sturdy. In addition, if identity theft is a concern of yours you should consider a locking mailbox variety. Wall mounted boxes don’t often allow for a great area for outgoing mail. So, look for a model with a specific area to avoid annoyances in the future with mailing letters from your home.

There are really no limits to the types of wooden mailboxes that can be made and used for the delivery of the mail. In fact, the individual’s imagination being the only thing holding them back.

If the homeowner cannot fashion the desired design, chances are they will know someone who can make the wooden mailbox they want.

From the simple metal mailbox that is wrapped in slats of wood, to the wooden mailbox that is made to look like a house or an old fashioned saloon, there really is no exception to what can be made.

The only caution is that a mailbox made out of wood will have to meet certain standards to protect the mail. Size is not as regulated, but having a mailbox big enough to accept larger items may be a desired part of the construction.

Waterproofing is usually done on the inside and outside of the wooden mailbox to keep the mail safe from rain, sleet and snow, which everyone knows will not stop the mail from being delivered. The wood itself will need to be treated to prevent it from rotting from the weather, allowing it to be used for several years.

When using a wood mailbox on a protected porch, there are fewer requirements for waterproofing. But, in the interest of the homeowner, making it as weather resistant will be in their best interest.

It may also be a good idea to put some type of lock on the mailbox to prevent unauthorized persons from going through the incoming and outgoing mail.

Many mailboxes are placed on top of a post. This is done to of course meet the height requirements of the United State Post Office and also to find an aesthetically pleasing way of incorporating the mail receptacle in the overall landscaping that is making up the front yard.

Yet if you have ever driven through a residential street and seen a mailbox that was knocked over – this happens quite frequently during the winter months when snow and ice are on the roads – it only makes sense that wall mounted mailbox choices are becoming more popular.

Keeping in mind the local USPS guidelines, consider checking out wall mounted mailbox choices to prevent drive-by vehicle damage and also keep your mail securely in a locked box rather than simply having it dumped into your front room.

While the door mail slot is a tempting proposition, the fact that anyone can lift the flap and scope out the interior is a fact that prevents many a homeowner from following through on this mail option.

Lastly, wall mounted mailbox choices not only prevent drive-by vehicle damage but they also add a lot of distinction to the decor of a home. After all, they come in a plethora of shapes and sizes, and they can underscore the building style, the color of the house, and even the general ambiance the homeowner is seeking to express.

When utilized as an accessory in this fashion, wall-mounted mailbox choices truly make a lot of sense for any residence.

While identity theft is making all the headlines, vandalism is another occurrence homeowners must factor in when considering the purchase of a mailbox. Vandalism comes in many different forms. But, by far the most common outcropping is mail theft.

This is closely followed by mail destruction – usually in the form of fires set inside the mailbox – and mail defacing accomplished by placing something undesirable inside the mailbox with the mail and leaving you with unsavory cleanup duty.

When you use a lockable mailbox to prevent vandalism, you are essentially killing two birds with one stone. Would be identity thieves are going to move on because your box is simply not worth the time it will take to retrieve any potentially identifying pieces of mail, which may or may not prove useful in their endeavors to steal your identity. Furthermore, the lock also prevents vandals from doing anything to you or your mail.

It is a sad reality not even the heart of the suburbs is safe from those who would seek their jollies by destroying someone else’s property. But when you use a lockable mailbox to prevent vandalism you can be sure that neither thief nor vandal is going to have any success with your letters, bills, and of course pre-approved credit card offers.

What is more, when you are expecting that special Christmas delivery for the kids, have a lockable mailbox also keeps their little eyes away from the goods before Santa had a chance to put them under the tree!

You work hard to pay your bills on time and to keep your credit cards paid down. One day you are shopping downtown with your sister and you accidentally leave your purse in a taxi. You contact the taxi company but your purse is gone. You had three credit cards a debit card and your drivers license inside.

You have everything canceled and your driver’s license replaced. Three months later you begin receiving collection agency phone calls about cellular phone bills, credit cards and loans. They have your name on them but you don’t live in Washington and you did not buy a houseboat. You have become a victim of identity theft. Who do you call? Where do you turn?

You can resolve this nightmare and have your identity repaired by using a restoration service online. These companies guarantee that they will make the phone calls and do the necessary talking to get this resolved. You simply have to have an affidavit notarized, get a police report, mail letters that are provided by the agency with instructions and keep track of this with a record form.

The stress and hassles are relieved. The collection calls and harassments are stopped. For a single person case it is estimated that it can take about $400.00 dollars to repair a persona-stolen identity. This may vary depending on the extent in which your identification was used and how many people it was sold to. No matter the cost of the repair it will be worth knowing that your name once again belongs to you.

As a homeowner you know that your home reflects your personality and many an artsy type will not be long in also incorporating the mailbox in the general homestead improvement.

But did you know that there are 10 distinctive decorative mailboxes mistakes to avoid?

1.Is your decorative mailbox big enough? The post office has regulated the minimum size for a proper mail receptacle and if it is too small, your mail carrier may refuse to serve you.

2.Is your decorative mailbox accessible? While it may be unusual, unique, and most certainly distinctive to have your mailbox mounted in a tree, it will not be acceptable to the mail carrier who has to climb to deliver the mail.

3.If your mail is delivered from a vehicle, the box needs to be mounted at an appropriate height. Your distinctive pole that is too tall or too short may be a decorative mailboxes faux pas!

4.Is the box far enough away from the curb to accommodate snow plows in winter?

5.Booby trapping of mailboxes is seen by some as a deterrent for would-be identity thieves, but if the unique mechanism threatens to harm the mail carrier then your mail will no longer be delivered.

6.Some entrepreneurs have taken to decorate their mailbox in a unique manner displaying an ad for their home business; many a city has ordinances against such a practice. You will still get your mail, but it might contain a fine from your local municipality!

7.If your mailbox has an address displayed, it must not be covered up with decorations.

8.If your unusual decorations are seen to be offensive in any manner, you may find that both the post office and the city will ask you to remove them.

9.Perhaps the most distinctive decoration is the use of a non-mail receptacle and then turning it into a distinctive mailbox. Be careful! The post office will not look favorably on that.

10.Last but not least, of the 10 unusual, unique, and distinctive decorative mailboxes faux pas to avoid this is the most important one: attaching anything living to the décor. In other words, the mailbox or its post is not a good place for the beehive, the ant farm, or as a habitat for your pet rodents or snakes.

It is stomach wrenching to know that in the year 2007 alone there were 8.4 million victims of identity theft. Within the United States it is estimated that each year there is a heart stopping 9 million people to have their identity stolen.

With statistics like these it is hard to understand why we are not more protective of our personal information. Not only are the rates of theft victims high but the cost and time to correct these fraud actions is not to be laughed at either. It costs an average identity theft victim $6,000 dollars. It takes fifty billion dollars per year in the U.S. to correct frauds matters.

An average identity theft account takes 40 hours to resolve and an even greater time to correct a fraudulently blemished credit report. It is sad to report that many cases of identity theft are due to a friend or family member’s betrayal. Other causes can include lost wallets, stolen purses, paper mail theft and Internet fraud.

A shocking 65% of identity theft occurs offline through methods like a criminal scavenging through your trash. In order to protect ourselves we must become cautious of where and how we display our personal information.

Do not provide personal details in emails or phone calls. Shred mail and keep documents in a locking file cabinet. Purchase a locking mailbox and stop mail when you are out of town. Simple steps can keep you from becoming a staggering number in an identity theft statistic.

Identity theft is no myth as nearly nine million people in the United States have their identity stolen each year. It costs fifty thousand dollars per year within the U.S. to resolve identity theft. It also takes forty hours to resolve the average case of identity theft and even longer to correct fraud activity on a credit report.

It was estimated that in the year 2007 alone, 8.4 million people were victims of identity theft. With the startling facts of identity theft available it is a shame people do not take precautions to protect themselves from this harsh possibility.

Simple steps such as purchasing a locking mailbox, shredding personal documents and maintaining one’s bank account knowledge can lower a person’s risk of identity theft rapidly. You may be surprised to know that 65% of identity theft was obtained offline. This is often through the trash, lost wallets or unsuspecting friends or family members.

Checking account fraud alone is the fastest rising area of fraud today. There are cases of identity theft across the nation though highest rates are in California and New York. In order to keep yourself from becoming another statistic of identity theft you should never throw out paper mail that has your personal information on it.

Keep your birth certificate and social security card under lock and key. When using passwords on websites use a mixture of letters, numbers and symbols. Do not use a familiar word or birthrate. Keeping yourself safe from identity theft is just as easy as it is for a criminal to dig through your trash for your phone bill. Be smart and keep your personal information safe.

The dangers of identity theft are real and the risk is great. You may become a victim simply by a person driving up to your mailbox and taking your mail. They then take your name and build a false life around it. They can apply for credit cards, loans and begin to make purchases all under your name.

When payments aren’t made and credit concerns come to the forefront you begin to receive phone calls and you don’t even know what these phone calls are about. This happens to thousands of people across the country but you don’t have to be a victim.

You can protect yourself with a locking mailbox. You have seen the commercial mailboxes for office or apartment buildings. Each tenant has a key to his or her locked mailbox for security.

You to can have this same security. There are several models and styles available that offer a locking mailbox for your protection. You can find these mailboxes in a wide range online. There are even slots that can hold small boxes or packages for safekeeping.

The only way a person would be able to get to your mail would be through a break in and no criminal is going to risk being caught doing this as they can simply drive down the street and target a regular mailbox.

You may have to contact your postal service, as they may need to approve the mailbox. There may be ordinances that you may have to go up against as well, though this is not likely. You can now have the peace of mind that if you go out of town and your mail is left inside your mailbox you are safe. Simply changing your mailbox type to a locking model can keep you from suffering the consequences of identity theft.

As you drive down the country road, you notice the occasional mailbox that seems to be interspersed with lush vegetation or old trees. Usually found at the beginning of a driveway, you notice that while many of these kinds of boxes feature whimsical designs, hand painted names, and in some cases are artistically incorporated into the landscape, they all have one thing in common: they lock. While this may a somewhat novel concept to many a city dweller, it is a stark requirement in rural areas.

Locking rural mailboxes are a necessity to protect items purchased through the mail from the quick hands of would be thieves. It is not unheard of for thieves to follow mail trucks and other delivery trucks on their routes to await the drop off for a small package or oversized letter and then simply open up the mailbox and remove the item. This kind of theft causes hundreds of thousands of dollars in loss on a yearly basis, and thieves make off with jewelry, CDs, DVDs, and a plethora of other consumer goods in this manner.

Since in rural areas especially the mailboxes are so far removed from the homes and windows overlooking the driveway, they are at a heightened risk for being emptied by anyone other than the owner. Fortunately, with the advent of locking rural mailboxes the incidents of mail theft have severely declined.

Relying at times on mechanical locks that permit one time access to the cavity of the box, home owners now have the opportunity to safeguard their mail without having to lie in waiting for the mail carrier. Yet even in non-rural areas these locking rural mailboxes are gaining in popularity, and with the rise of identity theft it is no small wonder that more and more homeowners seek to protect their credit card bills and also bank statements.

No matter whether you are a resident of a home or an owner of a business, mailboxes are important things to have. They ensure that your mail will get to you in a dry, well-kept condition and stay all in one spot.

For businesses, certain mailboxes are better than others. One type of mailbox which no business should be without is the commercial locking mailbox. Commercial locking mailboxes are wonderful things for quite a few different reasons and it is important that business owners should have these types of items at their place of business.

Importance of Commercial Locking Mailboxes

Commercial locking mailboxes are important items as they provide a safe place for business mail to go. Businesses often receive checks, private documents and other important pieces of mail. Having a mailbox which will keep the items safe and well contained is crucial.

Commercial mailboxes tend to be more durable than some other types of mailboxes, such as residential ones, and the locking capabilities protect important documents from the hands and eyes of others. These may cost a bit more than regular types of mailboxes but the money is well spent in this regard.

Why Business Owners Should Buy Commercial Locking Mailboxes

Business owners should really consider no other mailbox than the commercial locking type of mail receptacle. These items protect the important mail by keeping it dry and contained in a mailbox which is supposed to stand the test of time. The business owner should also realize the importance of having a locked mailbox, especially if they deal with a lot of confidential documents and bill payment.

With all of these reasons stated, it is quite easy to see that the commercial locking mailbox is the way to go if you are a business owner and wish to protect your confidential documents as well as the documents of others who send them your way.

No matter what one may be interested in purchasing these days, there are a number of options with regard to sellers and where to buy the items. If steel locking mailboxes are on an individual’s shopping list, they will find that these too are available via many different avenues. Prior to setting out to the store to buy a mailbox of this type, it is important to know the options regarding sellers of this type of product in order to make an informed decision with regard to the final purchase.

Home Improvement Stores

Home improvement stores such as Home Depot and Lowe’s are a number one choice for many who need to purchase mailboxes and more specifically steel locking mailboxes. These types of stores provide a wide array of options for the buyer to select the best type of mailbox. They also may have deals on various items of this type. The only downside to buying at a home improvement store is that they may run out of items from time to time and you might have to wait a while until your specific product becomes available again.

Online Retailers

Purchasing steel locking mailboxes online is another option for buyers to consider. For those who have Internet access, this manner of purchasing might just be ideal as you can check out a variety of stores and products in a short period of time online. The downside to this type of purchase is that shipping and handling charges often apply. However, sometimes online stores will offer free shipping on certain items or when a certain amount of money is spent on purchases at their store.

General Product Department Stores

Lastly, general product department stores, such as Wal-Mart, will often carry mailboxes. If you have a department store of this type in your local vicinity, it might just be worth a trip over to the store to see what type of steel locking mailboxes are offered and the price tags on them as well.

Mailboxes are a necessity for most individuals these days. Even though email is a wonderful way to get your messages across to others, the United States Postal Service still has a place to close to our hearts. No matter where one lives, they will ultimately have some type of receptacle in which their postal service worker can leave the mail.

For some, a mailbox is something which does not have to be fancy or extra sturdy but for others having a good, well-built mailbox is the way to go. One type of mailbox which many opt for is the steel locking mailbox. There are a few good reasons to use this type of mailbox and some of these will be discussed below.

Security

First and foremost, these types of mailboxes are secure by nature. Their steel construction and locking capabilities make the steel locking mailbox a sure bet for those who look for these types of attributes in a mailbox. The security feature is a beneficial one to have, especially if the mail recipient receives a lot of checks and other important, confidential pieces of mail.

Durability

Steel locking mailboxes also have durability traits which are beaten by no other type of mailbox. The steel construction helps to ensure that one’s mailbox will stand the test of time and will be the perfect place for the mailman, to place the mail on a daily basis.

Weather Resistant

For those who live in areas where bad weather is commonplace, a steel locking mailbox will be more likely to stay in good condition through rough weather conditions. The steel material is more likely to resist corrosion or dents from rain and snow and the locking capabilities help to ensure that all the mail will stay in one place should bad weather arise.

Commercial locking mailboxes are wonderful options for business owners.
If you are looking for a mailbox to place by the road, commercial locking mailboxes with posts are the right thing to choose. These come in a variety of sizes, colors and styles which makes it easy to find the right one.

When selecting a mailbox of this type, determine the security level of the mailbox by considering the material from which it is made as well as the durability factor. Also, be sure to get street numbers to affix to your mailbox so the postal worker knows exactly where the mail should go.

Wall or Door Mailboxes

For those who are eager to buy a mailbox to place by the front door of the business, commercial locking mailboxes of the wall or door variety are the right ones to peruse. These too can be purchased in various styles, materials, sizes and colors.

When choosing a commercial locking mailbox of this type, consider the area where it is going to be placed and choose a size which will best fit in that location. Street numbers should be affixed to the mailbox itself or since it is located on the building or the door, having a street address number on the business itself will be fine as well.

There are many different options in the way of mailboxes for consumers to choose from these days. Some are inexpensive plastic objects whereas others are ornate pricey mail receptacles. For those who decide on a cast aluminum mailbox, there are a few considerations to keep in mind when shopping for it which will help you to pick out the best type.

Style
First, consider what style of mailbox you are looking to place outside of your home. The style which you have in mind will help to narrow down the choices and make your final selection the correct one. Determine whether you want a plain type of cast aluminum mailbox or one which is more expressive in nature with various ornaments attached. Once you have a particular style in mind you can move on to the next consideration which is size.

Size

Mailboxes come in a variety of sizes. You may already know what size mailbox you want which will help to make the decision easier. If not, consider where the mailbox will be placed and this is a good way to narrow down the options pertaining to size as certain size mailboxes look better in some places than others. Once you have chosen the size of your cast aluminum mailbox, it is then time to choose the mailbox post.

Post

Although some cast aluminum mailboxes can be mounted next to your front door or even attached to the door itself, many are placed on the roadside and therefore a post will be necessary to hold the mailbox itself. When choosing a post, consider the ground in which it will be placed as some posts are sturdier and easier to dig in than others. Also determine whether you want your post to have house numbers attached to it or if you will be placing those on the mailbox itself.

Replacing a mailbox is something which many people take their time getting round to. It can be a significant expense, and even if that’s not an issue, finding a suitable model and getting it installed is time consuming.

It can be hard to fit into your busy routine. But broken and unsightly mailboxes don’t just represent a problem for you – they can be a problem for your whole community.

Because they normally stand so close to the curb, fallen mailboxes can be a real hazard for traffic, especially in wintry conditions when drivers might not see them in time.

Sometimes mailboxes fall over at night or are knocked over by heavy snowfall. This means that you might not realise there’s a problem until somebody has an accident. It’s your duty to make sure that your mailbox post is in good condition so that this doesn’t happen.

Don’t just ignore a rotten or termite infested post in the hope that the problem will go away. It’s up to you to buy the necessary chemical treatments and sealants, or to replace your mailbox post with a plastic or metal one which won’t be as vulnerable to damage.

Free standing mailboxes can also be vulnerable to damage, especially by vehicle impact. If masonry crumbles loose at the base of your brick mailbox, get a stonemason to look at it as soon as possible.

Failure to do so could result in the whole thing collapsing, presenting a hazard to passers-by as well as costing you big bucks to replace.

Even where a damaged mailbox is not actually hazardous, it can present problems for your community. Because mailboxes are amongst the first things visitors see when they enter a neighbourhood, unsightly ones can significantly lower the value of properties there. It’s your responsibility to find the money to replace your mailbox, because your neighbours may not be able to afford for you to neglect it.

If you’re looking for mailbox replacements, one thing that is important to keep in mind is that in the U.S. the federal postal service has some say about what is considered an acceptable and authorized mailbox style and size. It’s important, therefore, that you turn to a professional merchant or mason that knows the ins and outs of postal regulations on mailboxes and their replacements.

Let’s look at the various mailbox replacements possible from one of these professional merchant sites. This site has a number of options with curb appeal, quality and durability in mind. They can offer a basic 4×43 mailbox post, or one custom made from wrought iron, wood, cast aluminum and masonry. They can save your stone or brick mailbox if it has been hit be a vehicle, putting it upright and in tip top shape once again. Or they can reconstruct the outer structure and replace the mailbox itself within that original structure.

Other than custom masonry construction of these replacement mailboxes, the turnover from start to finish is generally as little as one or two days. The price this mailbox merchant quotes you will include removing and disposing of the existing structure and system and quality installation of a mailbox that meets postal regulations.

If you’re looking for a brick or stone mailbox replacement or new structure, this firm will not only create your new mailbox but find the exact location that best suits the look and style of your home and property and the brick or stone that matches your home’s exterior as closely as possible.

While many homeowners are looking for mailbox replacements, this merchant and mason can work with developers and business owners to design attractive mailbox in an office part or other commercial setting. They can design stone or brick structures for multiple boxes and even build them equipped with security locks.

Besides new and replacement mailboxes, this company constructs quality stone and brick marquees or other business signs to your design and style specifications.

Mailbox replacements enhance the beauty of your home and property and, in some areas where there are restrictions on the exterior look and / or a homeowner’s association, mailbox replacements may be required. If you have an old, rusty, decrepit, and otherwise ugly-looking mailbox a replacement may be possible through your own homeowner’s association. We looked at the site of one group that made the replacement as painless and worry free as possible for its residents.

Not only does this organization provide replacement mailboxes but they have new posts as well, and demonstrate the choices at the community recreation center. The mailboxes, with post, cost between $125 and $625.

The mailbox replacement program is a cinch for the homeowner. All she or he has to do is select from the vast array of mailbox and mail post designs and make their payment. The delivery as well as the installation of the mailbox is included in the cost. The installers even remove your old ugly mailbox and post. Street numbers are included, and the proceeds after cost are given to an area beautification committee to fund further projects.

In this particular mailbox replacement program there are eight different mailbox and post styles from which to choose. At the lower end, the $125 Hickory style, is the traditional but attractive look of wood. The 4×4 wood post is treated to withstand the ravages of inclement weather and the size of the mail box itself is standard. You can choose from white, black or brown. The price includes vinyl decal house numbers.

Clearly the most striking, the Linden, is the highest priced. This $625 mailbox replacement is oversized, with a monogram on the box and a post made of cast aluminum coated in powder. The house numbers are golden and two sided. You also get a gorgeous three inch raised bronze initial. The color choices for this beautiful mailbox and post are black, white and French bronze.

If you’re building a new home you might want to consider mailbox construction as part of the process. Especially with a brick home, there are so many masons and construction companies that can create your decorative matching mailbox right as they create your brand new home.

Let’s take a look at some of the clever and attractive options in customized brick mailbox construction.

One brick mailbox merchant in Missouri offers nine different styles that can be ordered right from the firm’s Web site. Not only a mailbox design and construction firm, this company can also help with any brick or stone entry pillars, retaining walls, patios, walkways or repairs to any of these structures. If you are in their local area they can also deliver any of the mailboxes constructed in their Missouri warehouse.

Even if your mailbox is of your own construction, you may want to purchase a mailbox liner from an online merchant. This will allow you to replace a damaged or rusted mailbox easily.

If you’d like to try constructing your own mailbox but you’ve never done it before you might want to order from an online merchant that offers the pre-designed kit for your own assembly. There are so many choices when you choose your numbers, for instance, could be brass, stone, etched or black. You have a choice of several colors with most vendors, and the keystone choices are quite amazing.

From one brick mailbox merchant you can decide among keystone choices of triangle, cross, snail, Greek god, lion, baseball, golf ball, ram’s head or eagle. You might choose to have a single planter, or even two, built into the plans for your mailbox construction. You can have lights on your mailbox if you wish, made of glass blocks.

Many of these online merchants have home storefront locations as well. If you prefer to stop by and look at the mailbox construction options you could save yourself some money by buying the previously constructed display models.

While mailbox construction is varied you’ll find most made all in part of heavy duty aluminum, with some steel as well. Mailboxes are constructed to withstand inclement weather for long periods of time and to dissuade thieves. Mailbox designers keep this in mind when they choose mailbox materials.

Standard mailbox posts, for example, generally the least costly and the least secure of any mailbox design and construction, are almost always made entirely of aluminum. Their finish is powder coated with many choices of color and look, such as bronze, brass, nickel, copper, and so forth.

There are some brass options for an antique look, whether for a commercial or residential mailbox or set of mailbox units.

In the residential category, the construction is solid brass. Some manufacturers will actually handcraft these brass mailboxes for a customized look. These are made to mount on the surface of the exterior of your home or commercial building, and come in your choice of vertical or horizontal style. You can also ask that the factory install security kits made of stainless steel and two identical stainless steel keys. Generally the U.S. Postal Service considers these front mounted mailbox constructions to be acceptable for residential delivery only.

Brass mailboxes, if that is your construction choice, can be used in commercial establishments in need of multiple mailbox units. They can be front or rear loading and give the attractive and nostalgic look of the 19th century U.S. post office. The door of each of these multiple units is constructed of solid die cast brass and has a clear window ¼ inch thick so the owner can readily see if there is mail to be picked up. The interior are made of steel but often coated with powder to give them the color of tan. The hinged doors are brass as well.

Outdoor courier boxes are often made of hard steel to withstand severe weather conditions.

Whichever material is chosen for the residential or commercial mailboxes, their construction is chosen with longevity and durability in mind.

While there are a number of commercial locking mailboxes made to accommodate individual mailboxes, typically used for a tenant situation, there are others that act as a mail drop for all, with no need for each individual to have access to what is placed inside.

Mail package drops, for example, are used by multiple individuals as a place to safely store their outgoing mail for pickup by the postal service. It accepts no incoming mail. It typically has an access door on both the front and rear, the key to which is reserved for an authorized postal carrier. These mail package drops provide the owner several style, color and mounting post options.

Though not technically mailboxes, mail drop receptacles are great options for safe and secure commercial or residential front door delivery. Each typically comes with a lock on the inside so the owner can secure the opening during non-delivery times. The mail drop does not allow postal carrier access except for delivery of your mail.

Made of strong steel and aluminum plate, these locking mail drops are recess mounted and come with a mail flap that is spring loaded and a mail flap stop that is adjustable. You can choose from five colors green, ivory, brass, aluminum or bronze.

The typical locking mail drop has as rear opening that is 12 inches wide and 6 inches tall and a mail drop chute that aligns with it to catch the mail. It cannot accept larger packages, which is its common drawback, although on some vendor Web sites you can find boxes as wide as 15 inches and as tall as 19 inches.

Depending on vendor and manufacturer you can often order custom engraving on the outside of these mail drops.

The need to lock your residential mailbox doesn’t have to limit the look of your mail receptacle.

While rural mailboxes can be inexpensive and easy to install, and as decorative and customized as you’d like, they are not locking mailboxes. Nor are the ones you so commonly see attached to the outside of a home with an easy top access. If you are looking for a locking mailbox for your home there are several other options, however. Let’s take a look.

If you’d like a mailbox that attaches to the outside of your home, perhaps next to your front door, you can find one that locks. More modern than their early non-locking predecessor mailboxes, these are generally constructed of die cast aluminum. Their mail flaps are on the front, made of solid brass, with the word MAIL emblazoned in caps.

You access your mailbox from the front with one of two identical keys provided. The front door lock is made of gold finish. You can also ask for a gold finish thumb latch that does not lock, if you wish. These modern locking mailboxes typically come in a variety of colors to match your home’s decor as well as some choices in door design. You might, perhaps, prefer to have an eagle adorn your mailbox.

You may choose a column locking mailbox instead, one that is recessed into masonry, a brick driveway adornment or even a wall. These classy looking mailboxes are made from cast aluminum and can be ordered in a non-locking model as well. You can choose from four great colors black, green, beige or white, and can adorn the front with an eagle if you so desire. The mail flap is locked and accessed from the front.

Most roadside mailboxes, many of which offer more than one mailbox per post, can be locked and accessed from both the front and rear. Very attractive, you can generally choose from brass, nickel, bronze or copper finish. The post on which your locking mailbox is mounted is your choice as well. You can choose a custom design to mimic your home and yard decor or choose from many ready to go color and finish options.

The need to lock your residential mailbox doesn’t have to limit the look of your mail receptacle.

Are you worried that your mailbox post is not going to last very long? If so, this is a valid concern. Although you do not have to be particularly concerned with this, you should definitely keep an eye on the way that your post is holding up.

It may only cost you a few bucks to replace your mailbox post, but at the same time, this could be a labor intensive job that you are not ready for. You are much better off making your mailbox post last a long time than having to change it every so often.

The best way to make your mailbox post last is to keep it clean, while also treating it on a regular basis. For instance, if you have a wooden mailbox post you will want to treat it at least once per year. This may not sound like a big deal, but when you treat your mailbox post you can be rest assured that it will stand up to the weather for a longer period of time.

Of course, if it is made out of something different, such as plastic or iron, there are other ways that you can keep it protected. Plastic may need washed off from time to time, and for iron, make sure that it does not begin to rust.

With a bit of care from time to time, you can help to make your mailbox post last for years on end. This will make your home’s exterior look better, while also saving you time and money.

What is your mailbox post made out of? Do you even know anything about this? If you are like a lot of homeowners, there is a good chance that you have never thought twice about your mailbox post. But when it comes down to it, this is something that you may want to check out the first chance that you get.

Generally speaking, most mailbox posts are made out of wood. And of course, there are some homes that do not even have a mailbox post. Instead, the mailbox itself is attached directly to the home. In addition to wood, mailbox posts may be made out of other materials such as iron. This is not common, but there are some people who would prefer to have a unique look.

If you think that it is time to change your mailbox post, you may be right. After all, these can only last so long. If you have been at your home for a long time, you may want to consider if it is time to swap your post for a new one.

While you are at it, make sure that you also consider the overall condition of your mailbox. You might as well get them both fixed at once if you are going to take the time to do one.

A mailbox post can be made up of anything that is strong enough to stand sturdily. But as mentioned above, you will notice that most of them are made of wood.

There are many benefits of buying a brick mailbox. If you are in the market, brick may be just what you have been looking for. Sure, there are other options such as plastic and aluminum, but they do not offer nearly as many features as brick.

But before you move forward to purchase a brick mailbox, you should really consider all of the benefits. You will probably find out that this is right for you, but some people do not. After all, you cannot expect a brick mailbox to look right in front of every home.

As you can imagine, one of the biggest benefits of a brick mailbox is its strength and durability. When you buy one of these you are not going to have to worry about it breaking on you anytime soon. They are quite sturdy, and should last for many years on end. This alone is reason enough to consider buying a brick mailbox.

Additionally, a brick mailbox also looks very good when compared to other options. Keep in mind that even though these look good, they can be hard to install. After all, a brick mailbox is something that you may have to work on yourself. In other words, it is hard to find a brick mailbox in the store that is going to suit every need of your home.

There are many reasons to buy a brick mailbox. If you are comfortable with the benefits that are listed above, you may want to consider purchasing one of these.

If you are interested in buying a decorative mailbox you need to know where to shop. These are more popular today than in the past, and for this reason, you should be able to find a large selection. When it comes down to it, you will have the ability to choose from hundreds of decorative mailboxes if you know where to shop.

Generally speaking, there are two places where you will find decorative mailboxes. First off, most people start their shopping experience online. This will allow you to find a large selection, while also being able to shop without leaving home.

The only downside of buying a decorative mailbox online is that you will have to hope that everything works out. Since you cannot physically touch the decorative mailbox you are buying, you have to rely on the description to walk you through the process.

If you do not want to buy online, take the time to search at a local store for a decorative mailbox. Although you will not find these at regular department or retail outlets, there are some specialty stores that may have these. Also, consider crafts shops as well. Many of these have a large selection of high quality decorative mailboxes.

Buying a decorative mailbox should be relatively easy. If you are not in a hurry you will be able to shop online and off. In turn, this will allow you to find the perfect decorative mailbox for your home, while also spending within your budget.

There are many reasons that homeowners decide to purchase a new residential mailbox. If you are thinking about doing this, have an idea of why before you actually make a purchase. After all, it would be silly to spend money on a residential mailbox when you could continue to use the one that you already have.

This is not to say that making a change is a bad thing, but you should definitely consider what you are doing.

The best reason to get a new residential mailbox is if you want a fresh look. Even though residential mailboxes can last a long time, they are not going to last forever. And as they get older, the way that they look is going to decline.

If you have an old residential mailbox on a nice home, you are not doing yourself any favors. Instead of opting for a quick fix that will not last, you would be much better off simply making a purchase.

Of course, you may want to buy a new residential mailbox for no reason at all. Maybe you are just hoping to change the way that the outside of your home looks.

If you have the money to do this, there is no reason that you shouldn’t. A change to your residential mailbox can go a long way in making your home more visually appealing.

There are many reasons to buy a new residential mailbox. If you have even one reason in mind, you should start shopping around.

These three tips will help you when buying a residential mailbox.

Buying a residential mailbox may not be as easy as you think. Even though this is nothing to lose sleep over, there are some details that you must absolutely keep in mind. Remember, a residential mailbox is the first thing that visitors are going to see when they pull up to your home. And of course, the same thing holds true for people who are simply driving past on their way to their destination.

Here are three tips for successfully buying a residential mailbox.

1. Know what size residential mailbox you want before you head to the store. You need to make sure that you buy something that will suit your home. This holds true no matter if you are hanging your mailbox on your house, or putting it on a post located on the street.

2. You need to buy the residential mailbox that will suit your neighborhood. Remember, a residential mailbox that is supposed to hang on your home will not look right if put on a post. Some neighborhoods require that you use a post on the street, so make sure you are aware of this before you begin the buying process.

3. Do not buy the first residential mailbox that you come across. There are many shapes, sizes, makes, and models to choose from. You should get the residential mailbox that is not only going to look best, but also the one that is going to offer the most in the way of functionality.

These three tips will help you when buying a residential mailbox.

There are many reasons that people are buying locking mailboxes at a record pace. If you are thinking about joining them, you probably have a good reason.

After all, you can probably think of a couple benefits that locking mailboxes have to offer. But if you are not sure of what they can do for you, take a look below.

Here are three reasons to buy a locking mailbox. Chances are that one of these will hit close to home with you.

1. Most importantly, locking mailboxes can be used to keep all of your mail safe. In today’s day and age, this is quite important. With a locking mailbox, as soon as your mail goes through the slot, only the person with the key will be able to access it.

2. Locking mailboxes do not cost as much as they once did. This may not be reason enough to buy one of these, but you should at least consider that you can save money.

3. A locking mailbox is a great idea for both residential and commercial property. No matter where you live or work, there is no reason to believe that you will not be able to find one of these that suits your needs.

These are three of the most common reasons for buying a locking mailbox. If you are tired of worry about your mail being stolen, you should consider buying one of these. When you do this, all of your days of worrying will be gone forever.

If you are looking for a final touch to bring your home’s exterior up to par, you should look into buying a decorative mailbox. A decorative mailbox can help to give your home some great curb appeal. No matter if you plan on living in your house for many years to come, or you are selling it, with a decorative mailbox you will definitely have passer-bys talking.

What is a decorative mailbox exactly? Generally speaking, these are out of the norm when compared to other mailboxes. For instance, you may be able to find a decorative mailbox that is in the shape of your favorite animal or sports ball. As you can imagine, this will make your mailbox stick out amongst your neighbors.

Keep in mind that you will have to pay a bit more money than usual if you are interested in a decorative mailbox. This is not to say that you are going to have to spend hundreds of extra dollars, but one of these will set you back a bit more than a standard mailbox.

You can find decorative mailboxes in local stores as well as online. Make sure that you take the time to shop around so that you get the mailbox that will look best on the front of your home.

All in all, a decorative mailbox will make the exterior of your home much livelier. Instead of living with the same boring mailbox, why not bring some added excitement to your home? Not only will you be happy with the end result, but your mailman will be as well!

There are many features of an aluminum mailbox that you will want to know about before buying. Even though aluminum mailboxes are among the most popular with homeowners, you will still want to do your own research; this is especially true if you have never had this type of mailbox in the past.

Here are a few features of an aluminum mailbox that may attract you to buy one of these.

1. Most aluminum mailboxes are quite strong. They may not hold up as well as steel, but when it comes down to it, these are meant to last a long time. If you keep your aluminum mailbox in good condition, it is safe to say that you will have it for many years.

2. An aluminum mailbox can be painted to match the rest of your home. This alone is one of the best reasons to buy aluminum. Even though you may be able to find an aluminum mailbox that matches your home, you should probably paint it to make it even better. This is something that you will have to consider when buying.

3. Most aluminum mailboxes are not outrageously priced. Since these are quite popular, you can usually find one that is within your price range. It is nice to be able to get a high quality mailbox without having to pay too much. And when you buy aluminum, this is exactly what you are going to get.

These are three important features of an aluminum mailbox.

Most people do not pay attention to their mailbox. This is such a shame because a little attention to your mailbox can add flavor to your whole yard and house. You can customize your mailbox with these fun and easy ideas.

Customize your mailbox with a new coat of paint. This could work very well if you just finished painting your house. You can paint your mailbox to match. The best mailboxes to paint are those that are wooden and sanded, or those of metals that will hold paint. A new paint coat can really customize your mailbox and give it the much needed face lift. Just be sure to do it before a weekend so mail will not be delivered. Also, when you customize your mailbox with paint, do not paint it shut!

If you are really artistic, you can customize your mailbox with panted pictures. Customize your mailbox with whatever your imagination wants, vines, flowers, animals, and more. You can also customize your mailbox with
family pride. Have your children and pets all put their painted handprint on the mailbox. This will definitely customize your mailbox with your own DNA! Just leave off personal names due to safety reasons.

The best paint to use when you want to customize your mailbox is weather-proof paint .That way your customized your mailbox will survive any type of weather Mother Nature brings. Also, it may be a good idea to use non-toxic paint if the mailbox will come in contact with pets or plants.

If you have the mailbox you want, you may be in need of one more thing: a mailbox stand! A mailbox stand is very important because it is the foundation of the mailbox. With a mailbox stand you can place your mailbox anywhere on your yard. Also, with a mailbox stand, you do not need to have your mailbox directly attached to your house.

A mailbox stand can also save you space compared to those large mailbox units. Since you can place a mailbox stand just about anywhere on your property, you may be able to adjust your yard’s deign better to your heart’s content.

When looking for a mailbox stand, it is good to find something that is sturdy. It does not have to support much weight, but it is always important that your mailbox stand will not tumble over if someone leans on it. The best mailbox stands are those made of stainless steel or bronze. This will ensure that your mailbox stand will not rust easy or be damaged in any accidents.

There are many types of mailbox stands that you can buy. There are traditional, plain style ones that will fit with any home style. There are also mailbox stands that have floral designs on them. A clever mailbox stand is one with large address numbers hanging off of them. This will make your house easier to find. Another good idea for a mailbox stand is one with a lamp attached to the top. This makes it look stylish and convenient during the night time.

If you own a home, you are probably well aware that there are two places that a mailbox can be situated; either on your home or on a pole next to the street. In today’s day and age, many planned communities are making it mandatory for mailboxes to be situated on the street. This makes it easier for the mailman to deliver the mail.

While the placement of your mailbox may not seem important right now, if you are going to buy a new one it is something that you must consider. After all, a mailbox that is mounted on your home is not going to have the same design as one that sits on a pole next to the street. And if you buy the wrong one, you will be forced to make an exchange right away.

As you can imagine, the main difference between the two types of mailboxes is the way that they are set up. A house mailbox has brackets that allow you to attach it to the brick, siding, wood, etc. On the other side of things, an on street mailbox needs to be attached to a pole. This means that you will still use a bracket of sorts, but it will not be the same type.

There are many models of mailboxes that fit both criteria. Just make sure that before you buy your new mailbox that you know where you are going to put it. This way, you can be prepared for the installation process.

There are many details of steel mailboxes that you may or may not be aware of. Most people who have never shopped for a mailbox have no idea what a steel one can do for them. But even if you have never shopped for a steel mailbox in the past there is a good chance that you have seen plenty of them. Although steel mailboxes are most common for businesses and commercial settings, some residential areas have these as well.

The best thing about a steel mailbox is its strength. Generally speaking, a mailbox made of steel is going to be very difficult to break. Even if somebody wanted to destroy a steel mailbox they would have a very difficult time doing so. To go along with this, steel mailboxes are quite durable as well. Once you get one of these in place you will not have to worry about changing it out in a couple of years.

Many steel mailboxes come with locks on them. This is why they are so common not only with business, but also in areas where mailboxes are not attached to the home. With a lock it is nearly impossible for anybody but the person with the key to get inside. So as you can imagine, this is an added level of security that a lot of people like.

If you are still not sure if a steel mailbox is right for you, go visit a few in person. After that, you will have a better idea of if you should buy or opt for another material.

When choosing a mailbox, you may have noticed the term “commercial mailbox”. Before you buy one, look into exactly what it is. A commercial mailbox is a set of mailboxes that are used for businesses or community living areas. You will need a commercial mailbox if you plan on starting a business, housing tract, or apartment building.

If you are starting or running your own business, you may need a commercial mailbox. You will need a commercial mailbox if you have more than one department or plan on giving your own employees their own commercial mailbox. The idea of a commercial mailbox is great if you want
professionalism and organization.

If you are in charge of a housing tract or apartment building, why not consider the use of a commercial mailbox? Buying one commercial mailbox will save you money over buying every house/apartment their own individual mailbox. Also, a commercial mailbox can be a mailman’s dream come true because they can travel less and get their job done quicker. A commercial
mailbox can also help bring unity to a small community because it is guaranteed that everyone in the neighborhood will go there at least once a week.

Majority of commercial mailboxes are locked. This will make many people (both in housing tracts and apartment buildings) because they will have a spot for mail and still have their identity and personal information protected. If you are a resident in a small neighborhood, why not have
everyone vote and pitch in to get a commercial mailbox? It will only make life a little easier.

If you are shopping for a new mailbox you are not alone. Changing your mailbox is one of the best ways to change the overall look and feel of the exterior of your home. This one simple change could make your home look 100 percent better. But with that in mind, there are many things to consider when buying a mailbox.

First off, remember that not all mailboxes are the same. There are many options to choose from, and you need to consider each mailbox that may work for your home. This comparison process is imperative if you are going to get what is best for you and your home.

When you are comparing mailboxes make sure that you keep an open mind. Even if you think that a plastic or metal mailbox is right for you, you may find out later on that this is not necessarily the case. When you take the time to consider every type of mailbox you will know for sure that the buying decision you make is the right one.

Finally, shop both on and offline for the mailbox of your dreams. Many people have found that shopping online is the better option because it allows them to have a larger selection, and of course, get a better price.

As you can see, purchasing a mailbox is not something that you should take lightly. Consider every type of mailbox on the market, compare prices, and then choose the one that will make your home look better!

The fact of the matter is that a locking mailbox may be right for you, but at the same time it could be nothing more than a waste of money. If you want to make the right buying decision, you need to consider all of the details that go along with buying a locking mailbox. As you can imagine, there are many models to choose from. For this reason, it is imperative that you take your time when shopping for locking mailboxes.

First and foremost, if you receive a lot of high security documents you will want to buy a locking mailbox. After all, this is a much better option than risking somebody taking something that is not theirs. While a locking mailbox will take some getting used to, it is nothing that you cannot handle over time.

Additionally, if you have had problems with vandalism and theft in the past, a locking mailbox is probably right for you. There is no reason that you should risk somebody stealing your mail when a simple locking mailbox will be able to keep them away for good.

Overall, you may or may not need to buy a locking mailbox. The only person that can answer this question is you. But as a general rule of thumb, if you think that you have a reason for a locking mailbox you should go forward with the purchase.

There are many different types of mailboxes that you can buy. But when it comes down to it, locking mailboxes have become more and more popular as of late. As you can imagine, there are many benefits that go along with buying a locking mailbox. And while there may be some drawbacks, there are not too many that you need to concern yourself with.

The main benefit of a locking mailbox is that you never have to worry about your mail being stolen by somebody who has devious intentions in mind. In today’s day and age, you are probably well aware that identity theft is a big problem. And when it comes down to it, if the right documents are taken from your mailbox you could easily be a victim. But when you use a locking mailbox, this is something that is much more difficult to pull off; as you can imagine.

The way that a locking mailbox works is quite simple. Your mailman will be able to slide your mail through a slot, but only you can access it by unlocking the door. While this may seem like a pain in the neck, it is nothing that you should be scared of. It will only take you a couple of days to get used to unlocking your mailbox before you can access your goods.

As you can see, there are many details of locking mailboxes. If you want to buy one of these, look into the many models that are available.

Do you need a new mailbox? This is a question that a lot of home owners are faced with year in and year out. The fact of the matter is that a mailbox is not something that you have to change. Of course, your current mailbox may be run down and beat to heck, but even then, you do not need to buy a new one unless you absolutely want to. With that being said, you are the only one who can answer the question of whether or not you need to buy a new mailbox.

The best way to determine if you need a new mailbox is to give your current one a good look. There are two things that you will want to consider. First off, what does your current mailbox look like? If it is bringing down the overall look of your home you may want to make a change right away. After all, mailboxes do not cost so much that you will have to make a major investment.

The other thing to look at is whether or not your mailbox is suiting your needs. As you can imagine, it is very important that your mailbox is stable enough to hold the mail that you receive each day. You do not want your mailbox to blow off the house, or fall apart altogether. Even though that may sound funny, it has happened before!

You may or may not need a new mailbox. You need to make a decision based on what you think is best for your home.

Think about how much mail comes through your mailbox everyday. Sure, there are those annoying advertisements, but there is also a lot of personal information. You get bank statements, credit card applications, bills, and more. All of these have your private information on it. All of this could lead to identity theft or other money/information losses. A locking mailbox can prevent all of that and more.

A locking mailbox will keep your mail safe from anyone from nosy neighbors to those trying to steal your identity. However, a locking mailbox will be easily accessible to your local mailman. The best thing to do is to make sure that locking mailboxes are allowed in your area. If locking mailboxes are okay, then why not get one today?

There are many styles of locking mailboxes, so do not think that getting a locking mailbox means you have to trade safety for style. There are many locking mailbox styles that will even add beauty to your home. Look for a locking mailbox that has a way for the mailman, but no one else to get in. Also look for one that will be easy for you to access.

If you do purchase a locking mailbox, have a couple of extra keys made. This is especially useful for those who can loose things easily. Keep one or two hidden in a cupboard or drawer and one on your keychain. This will ensure that you will always be able to find a key to your locking mailbox.

If you are looking for a little bit of added security or convenience, you may want to consider buying a rear entry locking mailbox. If you open up your eyes, you may be surprised to see how many people are using these around their home. They offer many benefits that you cannot get from a more standard mailbox.

The most common reason that you would want to use a rear entry locking mailbox is to have your mail delivered directly into your home. In other words, you can set this mailbox up so that when mail is deposited you can access it from inside your home. This means that you will never again have to travel outside to pick up your mail. In addition, you can also use this sort of mailbox if you have an estate wall. This way the mailman can deliver your mail from outside the wall, and you can pick it up from inside. Again, this adds a level of convenience to your home.

And just like any locking mailbox, a rear entry version will keep all of your mail safe at all times. This way you are the only person that has access to the contents of your box.

Overall, a rear entry locking mailbox offers many benefits to any home owner. If you are looking for some added security as well as convenience, you will definitely want to consider this design. You may find out that your life is much easier with one of these.

If you are looking for a locking mailbox, you are probably going to want to look at the front entry designs. Even though there are other options available, the designs that open in the front are the most common. You can find these in a number of different varieties, at hundreds of different stores.

The best thing about the front entry locking mailbox is obvious; it looks like a normal mailbox but actually has a lock on it. You may be thinking that you have no reason for a mailbox that locks, but you may be surprised at what one of these can do for you.

Many people that want a locking mailbox end up deciding against it because they think that it will look bad. But this is actually far from the truth. You can actually buy a front entry locking mailbox that looks exactly like a more traditional model. Of course, the only difference is that there will be a lock on the front; but most of the time these are small and undetectable at a glance. In other words, you do not have to worry about compromising the look of your house. There are front entry locking mailboxes that do not take on the standard look, but these are only necessary if you are going to be receiving bigger packages that you need to keep safe.

Overall, the front entry locking mailbox is a big seller. They can provide you with a level of security that you are not used to, as well as top notch style.

Do you worry about other people going into your mailbox and taking what is yours? Do you have a lot of important packages or envelopes being delivered to your home or business on a regular basis? If this sounds like your situation, you will want to look into getting a locking mailbox. You may think that this is taking things to an extreme level, but the bottom line is that it is sometimes necessary.

If you live at a residential setting, but have had problems with your neighbors in the past, you may want to look into a locking mailbox. By using one of these, you will never again have to worry about somebody going into your mailbox without permission. If they do not have the key, they cannot get in.

In addition, if you have a business, you may also want to get a locking mailbox. Most businesses have a lot of money coming in and out, as well as confidential information. A locking mailbox will be able to secure you information so that it is never compromised.

A better question is why not use a locking mailbox? With these you get added security, as well as convenience features. Not to mention the fact that they do not cost much more than a traditional box.

There are many reasons that using a locking mailbox may be for you. If you do not want to ever worry about the security of your mail again, a locking mailbox is your answer.

The decision on where to put your locking mailbox is entirely up to you. Just like any mailbox, you will have a few options to choose from.

First off, you will want to make sure that you are not required to have your mailbox on the street. A lot of neighborhoods are using this option to make things easier on postal workers. If you do have to keep your box on the street it is no problem. You can mount your locking mailbox to a pole, and you will be set to go.

If you want to put your locking mailbox on your home, you can do that as well. Your mailbox will more than likely come with a mounting kit for easy installation. If it does not, make sure you know where you can get one. After all, what good is a mailbox if you cannot put it anywhere!

You may also want to look into having your mailbox built into your home. By doing this, you will be able to access your mail from inside your home. This makes it much easier to get your mail. If you are going to exercise this option, you will need to look into the installation process a bit deeper since you will have to do some minor construction work to your home.

Overall, you can mount your mailbox anywhere that you please. As long as the mailman can find it, and you are living up to neighborhood law, every location is fair game.

Have you ever thought about buying a locking mailbox? First, you need to be aware that there are many different options available. In addition to the size, color, and style of the mailbox, you will also have to choose what it is made out of. This can often times be one of the most difficult steps in the buying process.

Locking mailboxes come in three different materials in most cases. First off, if you are buying with price in mind, you may want to go with a plastic mailbox. Even though plastic is not as strong as some other types, it will still do the job if you are looking for a simple key and lock design.

If you want to move up a step, you may want to consider a bronze locking mailbox. These are very strong and sturdy, and will be sure to deter anybody that has ideas of taking your mail.

Finally, a stainless steel locking mailbox may be for you if you are interested in maximum security. These are among the toughest mailboxes that you will find, and will keep your belongings 100% safe at all times. Stainless steel mailboxes are often times the most expensive as well.

When trying to decide what you want your locking mailbox to be made of, you need to ask yourself what you want. If you are on a budget, you will want to go with plastic. But if money is no object, and you need the highest level of security, the best way to go is with bronze or stainless steel. The choice is yours!

The good thing about having a locking mailbox is that they are easy to use. In other words, you do not have to be a genius to figure one of these out. In fact, you may not even need a set of directions.

If you have a front entry locking mailbox, you will have a set of keys that will give you access to the box. This way, after your mail is deposited, you can simply open it up and take out whatever you want. But remember, without the key you cannot get in. This is the main feature of the box after all!

If you have a rear entry locking mailbox, you will again need to use a key to access your mail. But if you are using this type of box, you may not need to keep it locked at all times. Since the back end will be accessible through your home, you do not have to worry about strangers being able to get at it. This is one of the main advantages of using a rear entry locking mailbox.

There are also devices that you can buy for your locking mailbox called a thumb turn latch. By installing one of these you will be able to have a mailbox that securely shuts, but it will not lock. This is a good thing to have if you have simply grown tired of the lock and key box you have been using. These can be easily installed in no time at all.

Overall, it is not difficult to use a locking mailbox.

If you have never considered having a locking mailbox, you may want to rethink that decision. Many people think that a locking mailbox is overdoing things, but the fact of the matter is that they offer a large number of benefits to any homeowner. Just a few of them are listed below.

1. The main benefit that a locking mailbox offers is security. By having one of these you will never have to worry about anybody having access to your personal information. And in today’s day and age of identity theft, this is a huge plus.Â

2. A locking mailbox is also a great convenience tool. You can mount your mailbox on the side of your house, and then access it through the rear. In other words, it will work like a slot on your door. This way you will never have to leave your home to collect your mail. If you have an estate wall, you can also do the same thing.Â

3. Contrary to popular belief, locking mailboxes can be very stylish. Do not avoid these units because you think that they will look bad. You can buy a locking mailbox that looks just like a traditional unit. Most of the time the lock is very unobtrusive, and it can only be seen if you look hard.

Consider these three benefits of a locking mailbox before you decide against buying one. After you try one out, you may never want to go back to the more traditional method.
